Sucking Chest Wound

- All sucking chest wounds should be treated immediately by applying a vented chest seal to the defect.

- If vented chest seal is not available apply a non-vented chest seal.

-Monitor the patient for development of a tension pneumothorax

- If patient develops increased hypoxia, respiratory distress of hypotension and a tension pneumothorax is suspected,
treat by burping or removing the dressing or by needle decompression
